Introduction
If you, like me, love to relax while listening to the sound of the waves, then nothing is more perfect than a beach vacation. I’ve always dreamed of visiting a place where I’d wake up in the morning to the ocean, soft sand beneath my feet, and a salty scent in the air. A few years ago, I set out to make this dream a reality, exploring some of India’s most beautiful beach resorts one by one. Today I am sharing those travel experiences of mine – how did you like each place, what was special there and why these places should definitely be on your tropical escape list.
Goa – The Laid-Back Luxury Experience
Goa is probably already on everyone’s travel list, but the energy, lifestyle and beachside vibe here keep calling me back. My favorite stay was: Taj Exotica, South Goa.
I still remember watching the sunset from the palm-lined pathways and private beach. Sitting on the balcony of my room, I often just watched the waves come and go and felt that life could be so beautiful.
South Goa is relatively quiet, so there is less noise and more nature here.
How did I feel?
— The perfect balance of luxury and tranquility
— The spa session made the trip even more relaxing
— I still remember the fresh seafood dishes
Andaman – Where Water is Truly Blue
When I reached Andaman for the first time, I could not believe that such crystal clear water could exist in India too. My stay in Havelock Island was: Barefoot at Havelock
This resort is situated amidst dense jungle and in front of it is one of the beautiful beaches of the world – Radhanagar Beach . Going for a barefoot walk in the morning was like a meditation for me. The network here is also very weak, so digital detox happens automatically.
How did I feel?
— Water sports made this trip adventurous
— Sitting on the beach at night and watching the stars was unforgettable
I asked myself this – is this really India?
Kerala – Backwaters + Beach = Pure Bliss
Kerala isn’t called God’s Own Country for nothing. The sea, backwaters, and greenery here combine to create a truly soothing experience. I chose to stay at: Marari Beach Resort, Alappuzha. Life here is very slow and calm. The shade of coconut trees, lying on hammocks reading a book, and local Kerala food… I felt like time had stopped. The resort places a strong focus on sustainability—eco-friendly rooms, organic gardens, and glimpses of local culture are everywhere.
How did I feel?
— Ayurveda therapy relaxes both body and mind
— Morning yoga in front of the sea — Perfect refreshment
Pondicherry – French Touch by the Sea
Pondicherry impressed me at first sight with its colourful French style buildings, clean beaches and cafe culture. My stay: Le Pondy Beach Resort
There are water vibes on both the beach and lake sides. Long walks on the promenade in the evenings, followed by a relaxing dinner by the resort poolside—this trip was one of my most peaceful experiences.
How did I like it?
– Pocket-friendly luxury
– The combination of French and South Indian culture was very unique.
Gokarna – Peaceful & Soulful Escape
If you want a calm beach vacation away from the crowds of Goa, Gokarna is perfect.I stayed at: SwaSwara by CGH Earth Every day here feels like nature therapy—meditation sessions, art activities, organic food and private cottages.
Sitting on the beach and listening to the sound of the waves crashing in is the easiest way to listen to yourself. Here, I felt incredibly emotionally free.
How did I feel?
— More focus on mind + body wellness
— Sunset views so beautiful, words fail me
