I’ve always been a scooter lover. My daily commute is limited to office, market, and weekend rides, so I needed a ride that was budget-friendly , comfortable , and fuel-efficient . Last year, when I thought of replacing my old scooter, I was honestly confused by the options in the market. Every brand was promising something new – better mileage, sporty looks, smart features – all in one!
I decided to choose only after my research and test rides. Today I am sharing my personal experience with scooters that come under ₹1 lakh and which truly made me feel – “Yes, value for money.”
1. Honda Activa 6G – The Reliable Choice

First, I took a test ride on the Honda Activa 6G , because honestly, the Activa is a hero on every Indian road. What I really liked was its smooth engine and silent start feature . It has decent pickup in city traffic, and handling feels super comfortable. I personally liked its metal body – it feels sturdy and offers good stability. Mileage was around 47–50 kmpl in city use, which is quite decent. The on-road price was around ₹93,000 , and I felt it was a safe, reliable option for daily users.
2. TVS Jupiter 125 – Smooth and Spacious Ride

My next test ride was the TVS Jupiter 125. I found its seat comfort the best—perfect for long rides. Its under-seat storage is also quite large (32 liters), which easily accommodated my helmet. The Jupiter’s engine is refined, and acceleration in traffic feels smooth. I found its digital-analog meter and external fuel filling feature very convenient. Priced around ₹96,000 , I think this scooter is ideal for family use.
3. Hero Pleasure+ Xtec – Lightweight & Stylish

I wanted a slightly stylish yet simple scooter, so I tried the Hero Pleasure+ Xtec . This scooter is especially best for first-time riders or those who prefer a lightweight option. I found its Bluetooth connectivity feature and LED projector headlamp quite modern. The ride feels soft, and the handlebars are easy to control. Mileage was around 50 mpl , and the price was around ₹85,000 . The look of this scooter is vibrant and youthful – I personally liked its blue shade very much!
4. Suzuki Access 125 – Power with Comfort

When I drove the Suzuki Access 125 , I found it to be the perfect blend of comfort and performance. The engine is powerful, but there’s no vibration at all. The seat height is comfortable, and the ride feels quite stable. I found its retro look and chrome finishing very classy. Mileage was around 48–50 kmpl , and the on-road price was around ₹99,000 . This scooter feels a bit premium, but is still a great option under ₹1 lakh.
5. OLA S1 X (Electric) – The Modern Twist

I also wanted to try a little electric scooter, so I took a test ride of the OLA S1 X. Honestly, it was a game changer ! Smooth, silent, and instant torque—a completely different experience. Its digital dashboard and app connectivity feel modern. A single charge offers around 150 km of range (depending on mode), and charging costs are significantly lower than petrol. The price was around ₹79,999 (ex-showroom) —and I felt it was a future-proof investment.
My Personal Pick
Out of all these scooters , I finally chose the TVS Jupiter 125. The reason was simple—I wanted a comfortable, reliable, and feature-packed scooter for daily use. Storage space, ride quality, and fuel efficiency were all in perfect balance. Now, every morning ride brings me a sense of calm satisfaction—as if the scooter has become my best companion in daily life.
Bonus Tip for Buyers
If you are also planning to buy a scooter, then keep these things in mind:
- Choose according to your daily usage and route distance (electric vs petrol)
- Seat height and weight should be according to your comfort.
- Service center accessibility check karo
- And never skip taking a test ride!
Final Thoughts
In 2025, scooters are not just a means of commuting, they’re a part of lifestyle. I think we’ve all found the perfect mix— style, comfort, and affordability. Even today, when I ride my Jupiter to the office, I think every time— best decision ever!
